MONARCH MUSIC ACADEMY offers private instruction in piano, violin, voice and group instruction in theory, musicianship, and musical theatre for students age 8 to adult at all levels. Prior to enrollment, prospective students are required to schedule an audition with the director. This audition is for assessment purposes to determine whether the student has the necessary musical aptitude, cognitive ability and discipline to participate in the program. As such, no previous preparation is required. This is done for the benefit of the prospective student to ensure his or her success in the program.
As mentioned above, MONARCH MUSIC ACADEMY offers private instruction in piano, violin, voice and group instruction in theory, musicianship, and musical theatre for students age 8 to adult at all levels. Lessons are 50 minutes in duration and are provided on a weekly basis although additional lesson time is available upon request. Classes are also offered in Elementary Musicianship, Music Theory, Sight-singing and Ear Training and Keyboard Harmony based upon ability as well as current enrollment and availability. Upon enrollment, each student will be evaluated and a determination will then be made as to an individualized instructional program based upon the student’s strengths and weaknesses, method of learning, interest, age, level and ability. Therefore, each program is tailored to fit the student’s overall abilities and there is no ‘set’ course of study. Students are taught using a classical methodology so as to provide a solid technical foundation. However, students are encouraged to select music which they would like to learn in addition to the required classical repertoire. The studio is equipped with state of the art technology with professional pc-based recording capabilities for those desiring to create their own cd. Personalized recordings are also provided on an as-needed basis to aid the student in the learning process.
Online video lessons are available for the convenience of the student and those who reside outside of the area.
Tuition for Private Instruction is based on a FLAT monthly rate of $180 and includes weekly 50 minute lessons with tuition being due by the 1st of the month. Hourly tuition is also available at a rate of $60 per hour with prior arrangement. Hourly lessons are offered strictly on a limited basis dependent upon scheduling.
Group classes in Elementary Musicianship, Music Theory, Sight-Singing and Ear Training and Keyboard Harmony are offered based upon current enrollment and availability. Classes consist of 90 minute sessions provided on a bi-weekly basis. Enrollment is limited to six (6) students per class. Private instruction in these areas is also offered at the same rate as private lessons. Tuition for Group Classes varies based upon the course being taken.
